The third week’s matches of the SLC Major League Tournament ended today (06th September) at Colombo and Maggona.
After a washout on day two, the rain gods showed some mercy on day three as 3 out of 4 encounters resumed with only one game being abandoned without a result.
Test discard left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya found his form back with a super spell for NCC against Badureliya CC. Embuldeniya managed to pick up 7 wickets for 76 runs in the drawn encounter between the sides.
The Group A encounter between Lankan CC and CCC also ended in a draw today, but the latter managed to take honors thanks to the veteran left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara’s brilliant bowling performance. Pushpakumara bowled impressively throughout the match, picking up a match bag of 12 wickets for 86 runs.
Sri Lanka’s new spin hero Prabath Jayasuriya showed his class with the ball once again, taking a match bag of 10 wickets for 68 runs, representing SSC in their encounter against Police SC which ended in a draw today at SSC Grounds in Colombo.
