The Group A encounter between Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club and Nondescripts Cricket Club of the SLC Major Clubs U23 Tournament ended in a draw today (08th March) at Maggona.

NCC resumed their first innings at 49/2 on day two, but a major batting collapse saw them being bowled out for just 152 runs. Sadishan Chamodya was the only significant contributor with the bat for NCC as he made a fighting half-century.

Suwath Mendis and Prageeth Gunathilaka were the star performers with the ball for Nugegoda SWC as they shared 7 wickets between them.

Nugegoda SWC began their 2nd innings 67 runs ahead and posted 183/5 before declaring the innings, setting a target of 251 runs to win for NCC. The skipper Kevin Perera and Pasindu Pathum stole the limelight with excellent half-centuries.

Nugegoda SWC posted 71/2 for their 2nd innings at the close of play on day two as the match ended in a draw with Nugegoda SWC claiming first innings points.
