The final six matches of the Group Stage of the SLC Major Club T20 Tournament 2026 were worked off today (5th September) at several venues across the island, with Ace Capital Cricket Club, Colombo Cricket Club (CCC), Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC), Badureliya Sports Club, Police Sports Club and Moors Sports Club recording victories in their respective encounters.
The 20-year-old Thanuja Rajapakse produced a sensational performance for Ace Capital CC, smashing a blistering maiden T20 century in only his sixth appearance in the format. Rajapakse struck 118 runs off 66 balls, including 13 fours and 5 sixes, at a remarkable strike rate of 178.78 to guide Ace Capital CC to a comfortable victory. Anuka Wijewardhane also impressed with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 19 runs.

Chamika Karunaratne played a key role in NCC’s victory over Colts CC, scoring a blistering 65 off 42 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. The win also secured NCC’s place in the Quarter Finals.
At the P. Sara Oval Grounds in Colombo, Moors SC registered a comfortable victory over BRC in their Group A encounter, powered by blistering half-centuries from Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Sadeera Samarawickrama. Samarawickrama scored 53 off 36 balls, striking 8 fours, while Sooriyabandara contributed a rapid 51 off just 26 balls, with 3 fours and 3 sixes.
Police SC also secured a victory in Group A, with Chathuranga Kumara producing a career-best T20 bowling performance. Kumara claimed four wickets for 33 runs, while Bhanuka Rajapaksa followed up with a match-winning half-century to guide Police SC to victory over Nugegoda S & WC.
With the conclusion of the Group Stage, all eight teams advancing to the Quarter Finals have now been confirmed.
From Group A, Tamil Union C & AC, Moors SC, CCC and Police SC progressed, while Group B will be represented by SSC, Ace Capital CC, NCC and Panadura SC.
