SLC election should happen before December

The members of the outgoing Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) pointed out the need of having the SLC elections before the the 31st of December this year at a Press Conference at Colombo Cricket Club Pavilion today.

The SLC election was postponed from 31st of May as an interim injunction order was issued by the Court of Appeal preventing the holding of the SLC election after former SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga filed a petition against the SLC.

Speaking further former treasurer Shammi Silva stated that if the SLC elections didn’t happen before the 31st of this December the ICC will undoubtedly suspend SLC’s membership. He also said that since the ICC doesn’t tolerate political interference the ICC membership of SLC will be in threat if the Minister appoints an election committee by himself.
