Sri Lanka Board XI completed an innings and 108 runs victory against the Sri Lanka Development XI at the P Sara stadium today.
Continuing from an overnight total of 299/9 the SL Development last pair only lasted 5 balls as Ajantha Mendis wrapped up the innings in the first over of the day. SL Board captain Angelo Mathews then enforced the follow on with the Board XI 276 runs ahead.
The SL Development didn’t have much success against the bowling and lost wickets regularly with Sachithra Serasinghe the only batsman showing some resistance with a knock of 62. The development squad were bundled out for 168 inside 42 overs. Sachithra Senayake was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4 wickets, with Thisara Perera 3 wickets. Prasanna Jayawardena had a good day behind the stumps with 2 catches and 2 stumpings.
SL Development will take on SL ‘A’ team next week.
