11 matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Major League T20 Tournament were worked off around the island today (1).

Ashan Priyanjan’ all-round efforts helped CCC to a crushing 7 wicket win over Panadura SC. Priyanjan captured 2/12 with the ball before making an unbeaten half century to guide the run chase.

Army SC were involved in another tie and this time it was against Saracens SC as both teams made 145 each. Ruvindu Gunasekara’s third half century in four matches seemed to have Saracens on track, but a dramatic late collapse made sure Army SC took one point out of the match. Gunasekara meanwhile also went to the top of the batting run charts with aggregate of 191 runs and an averaged of 95.50.

Fireworks from Ravindu Kodithuwakku and Shalika Karunanayake guided Tamil Union to a thumping 115 run victory over Ports Authority. Both batsmen hit explosive half centuries as Tamil Union racked up 187 batting first.

Roscoe Thattil captured three wickets and then made an useful 25* not out with the bat as Air Force secured consecutive wins in the tournament. Galle CC were bowled out for 64 but Air Force were reeling at 19/5 before scraping through to a five wicket win.

Supeshala Jayathileke’s four wicket haul guided Moors to a thumping win over Navy SC while Thikshila De Silva’s explosive 72 led Chilaw Marians to a six wicket win.
