Prolific run scorer Roshen Silva stood up to the task once again scoring 109 to hand Ragama first innings points versus Army while Chilaw Marians, BRC, Colts and SSC ended day two in pole position with the possibility of wrapping up their games on the final day.

Chilaw Marians vs Galle CC

Sachithra Serasinghe carried off from where Shehan Jayasuriya left off as the right hander scored 151 runs of his own to take Chilaw Marians to a mammoth 552  for 8 in their first innings.

Malinda Pushpakumara of Chilaw then stepped up with the ball as his 5 for 65 left Galle CC rattled at 148 for 8 in their first innings at the close of play on day two.

The game will continue tomorrow at the FTZ grounds for the third and final day of play.

Ruvindu Gunasekara scored a valiant 50 but it was not enough as Moors crashed to 226 all out in their first innings in reply to BRC’s 293, handing the latter first innings points.

Thilakarathne Sampath’s unbeaten 56 helped BRC to 164 for 5 in their second innings as day two drew to a close with BRC having a lead of 231 runs.

Fifties from Sangeeth Cooray and Irosh Samarasooriya helped Saracens to 223 for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of day 2 in their game against Colts CC. They are trailing by 151 runs.

Earlier in the day Colts resumed from being 321 for 8 overnight to finish their first innings on 374 all out with Angelo Jayasinghe managing to add just 6 runs to his overnight score of 103 as he fell victim to Chatura Randunu.

The game will continue tomorrow for the third and final day at Colts grounds.

The SSC bowlers left the Bloomfield batsmen reeling at 179 for 9 as the visitors trail the hosts SSC by a massive 311 runs.

Sachithra Senanayake and Jeffrey Vandersay managed 8 wickets between them as the spin duo ran through the Bloomfield batting line-up.   

Earlier in the day SSC managed 490 before being bowled out. SSC added 108 to their overnight score of 382 as Sachithra Senanayake scored a blistering 120 off 107 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes.

Roshen Silva played a scintillating innings of 109 as he single handedly took Ragama past Army’s first innings score of 276 giving the visitors a slender 28 run lead.

Army added just 20 runs to their overnight score of 256 on the second morning.
