Winning the toss and batting first proved to be the wrong decision as St. Mary’s made use of the moisture on the bowling friendly deck to dismiss Bandaranayake for just 138. Lasitha Udahage (4/48) and Sanjaya Ranjith (2/15) were the chief destroyers as they ran through the Bandaranayake batting.
The bowling friendly track did not get any better for the batsmen as St. Mary’s themselves were bowled out for just 137 in 35 overs.
