Ayana Siriwardana scored a fighting century and saved Isipathana College of an outright loss over Nalanda but lost on first innings. Dananjaya Perera 94 saves St. Joseph Vaz of an outright loss against Maris Stella while Lasitha Udahage’s 9 wickets on day one helps St. Marys College Kegalle push Bandaranayake College towards outright loss.

Anuradhapura Central College v Presidents College

Anuradhapura Central beginning from 4 for no loss at the end of day one was bowled out after adding just 139 runs on the board as Rifaz Maurooz ran riot for the second time, picking 6 wickets this time around. Pramuka Gayashan was the other bowler as he managed 2 for 32.

Dananjaya Thammita 24 and Heshan Senira unbeaten 20 were the only two batsmen to contribute for Anuradhapura Central.

Continuing from day one, Nalanda College managed to add just 3 runs to their overnight score of 146/9 as the final wicket of their innings fell in no time.

Ayana Siriwardana led Isipathana College’s fight back as he managed a magnificent 121 in 130 balls which included 7 fours and 4 sixes as Pathana overcame Nalanda’s 14 run lead as the game ended in a tame draw in the traditional match between Pathana and Nalanda.

Kevin Perera (47*) and Sadeesha Perera (48) managed to steer the Maris Stella ship as they added 101 runs to their overnight score of 141 to end the Maris Stella innings on 242 for the first innings.

St. Joseph Vaz College made a statement in their second innings, spear headed by Dananjaya Perera’s 94 to take Joseph Vaz to 205 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of day two.

Lasith Croosepulle (4/67) and Pasindu Madawa (4/60) were the couple of bowlers to equally share the 8 wickets between them.

Bandaranayake College v St. Mary’s College

Winning the toss and batting first proved to be the wrong decision as St. Mary’s made use of the moisture on the bowling friendly deck to dismiss Bandaranayake for just 138. Lasitha Udahage (4/48) and Sanjaya Ranjith (2/15) were the chief destroyers as they ran through the Bandaranayake batting.

The bowling friendly track did not get any better for the batsmen as St. Mary’s themselves were bowled out for just 137 in 35 overs. Dasun Bandara (3/11), Sisitha Madanayaka (2/22) and Himath Jayaweera (2/37) made sure St. Mary’s College did not get a lead in the first innings as the bowlers kept Bandaranayake in the game.

Batting in their second innings Bandaranayake found themselves in deep trouble as they were 19 for the loss of 5 wickets at stumps on day one. Lasitha Udahage was the thorn in the flesh for Bandaranayake as he picked 5 wickets for just 7 runs.
