On the back of a fluent 189, the U 13s of St Anthony’s College Wattala propelled themselves in to the final of the under 13 division 1 cricket at the Ananda Shrastralaya grounds Kotte yesterday.
In a splendid display of batting Sanka Lahiru amassed 86 runs together with Sawan Prabash 33 to put their side, St Anthony’s in a good position to apply pressure on Thustan College. The Wattala side batted first scoring 189 in which Sanka’s knock in quick time took pride of place.
In reply Thurstan was once again at the receiving end from Sanka who together with Kavindu Hettiarchchi and Madushan Pathirage scalped two wickets each to bundle them out for 138 in the 29th over giving St Anthony’s a victory margin of 51 runs.
Richmond Galle will meet St Anthony’s Wattala at the Thurstan ground tomorrow to play out the final
