ICC Chief Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle is set to officiate his 400th ODI when he takes charge of the 3rd and final ODI between Sri Lanka and India at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Madugalle began his career as a match referee 30 years ago and has officiated in all ICC Cricket World Cups from 1996 to 2019 including three finals.

With 400 ODIs as a match referee, Madugalle tops the list followed by England’s Chris Broad (361), New Zealand’s Jeff Crowe (329) and India’s Javagal Srinath (268).

The 65-year old Madugalle represented Sri Lanka as a player in 21 Tests and 63 ODIs from 1979 to 1989 before turning to match refereeing.
