MAS Unichela defeated Teejay Lanka and Dimo overcame LB Finance in the semi-finals to qualify for the 25th Singer – MCA Premier League T20 Tournament final

MAS Unichela vs Teejay Lanka

Teejay Lanka skipper Milinda Siriwardane won the toss and invited the strong MAS outfit to have a bat at the P. Sara Oval grounds. They accepted the invitation and responded with 208/8 in their 20 overs. In-form left-hander Ramith Rambukwella came out all-guns blazing as he blasted the Teejay attack to all parts. Ramith hit 11 sixes and 3 boundaries in his 52-ball 105, while Mahela Udawatta chipped in with a timely 36.

In reply the 50 over champions Teejay Lanka, lost wickets at regular intervals as they were restricted to 156 all out in 18.4 overs. Experienced TM Dilshan bowled his 4 overs for 17, while Farveez Maharoof and Anuk Fernando grabbed 3-wickets apiece to give them a resounding win.

LB Finance vs Dimo

LB Finance skipper Lakshan Rodrigo won the toss and opted to bat first on the same pitch that was used for the 1st semi-final. The captain himself stroked a breezy 44 off 31 deliveries to give LB a good start in the first 10 overs (86/3).

Angelo Perera and Sahan Arachchige chipped in with useful contributions to post a formidable 170/8 in 20 overs. Left-arm spinner Matheesha Perera was the pick of the bowlers for Dimo as he bowled his 4 overs for 18 runs.

Rambukwella special lights up Singer-MCA T20 tournament

Left-handed hard-hitting opening batsman Ramith Rambukwella..

Chasing 171 to win, the young Dimo outfit scored 96/2 with the help of left-hander Thikshila De silva who hammered 71 off 36 balls that included 6 maximums and 7 boundaries in the first 10 overs before he was sent back to the pavilion by left-arm spinner Charith Sudaraka.

Former Anandian Sammu Ashan and Ramesh Mendis gave the finishing touches as Dimo completed the runchase with ease.

The finals will be held on the 19th of November at the MCA grounds.
