Heavy showers throughout the busy Monday ruined play at SSC grounds as the officials abandoned both SLC Super Fours Tournament matches without any play.
Western Troopers were scheduled to play their final game against Southern Express at 10.00am while Yaal Blazers had to negotiate unbeaten Udarata Rulers in the evening game scheduled to start at 02.00pm. Tenacious rain around 9.00am dampened the lovely SSC outfield which caused the abandonment of both matches.
Western Troopers will face Southern Express for the 2nd spot of the 2014 SLC Super Fours finals tomorrow (1st of July) at same venue after Southern Express finished on the 3rd position with a higher net run-rate value than Yaal Blazers.
Winners of tomorrow’s play-off between Western Troopers vs Southern Express will take on high riding Udarata Rulers in the Finals on 2nd of July at SSC grounds to determine Sri Lanka’s premier provincial T20 champions.
