Premium Afghans emerged champions of American Premier League 2023 as they beat Premium Indians in the final of the tournament worked off yesterday (31st January) at Moosa Stadium in Texas.
Batting first, Premium Afghans managed to post 115 runs on the board with Usman Ghani top scoring with a knock of 47-ball 55 runs which included 2 fours and 4 sixes.
Stephen Wiig produced a terrific spell, claiming 4 wickets for 5 runs in his 3.2-over spell. Ammad Butt also gave him a good support at the other end, picking up 2 scalps for 16 runs.
In reply, Premium Indians were knocked over for just 91 runs as Yousuf Zazai ripped through their batting lineup, claiming 4 wickets for 19 runs. Zazai won the player of the final award for his match-winning performance with the ball.
