Army vs Tamil Union

Army SC made a commanding 286/8 on the back of half centuries from Lakshitha Madushan, Janith Silva and Kasun De Silva against Tamil Union at Panagoda.

Jeevan Mendis bowled best for the visitors picking up 3/42 as the Army batsmen looked well in control for most parts of the day against the other bowlers.

BRC vs NCC

BRC’s wicket keeper batsman Deshan Dias finally came good after a lean run of form when he scored a brilliant century against a strong NCC outfit helping BRC make 244 all out.

Lahiru Kumara and Tharindu Kaushal picked up two wickets each for NCC but the standout bowler of the day was former Royalist Lasith Embuldeniya who continued his tremendous bowling form in the tournament picking up 6/59.

Ragama CC vs Saracens

Lahiru Thirimanne who was dropped for the recent third ODI against India, hit a solid 80 runs for Ragama CC on the opening day while Janith Liyanage played out of his skin to remain unbeaten on 98*. The elegant right hander struck 7 fours and 4 sixes, while left arm quick Mohamed Dilshad picked up 5 wickets for Saracens SC.

Colts vs CCC

Colts CC were shot out for 89 runs after hosts CCC won the toss and sent them in to bat. Right arm seamers Lahiru Gamage and Manelkar De Silva were the chief destroyers picking up 3 wickets each.

CCC drove home the advantage as they reached 192/5 at stumps with Wanindu Hasaranga and Madawa Warnapura unbeaten on 70* and 37* respectively.
