Panadura in shock win over Bloomfield and Deadly Spin attack give Army win in Premier League

Panadura SC claimed a shock 101 run win over Bloomfield in their Premier League cricket encounter concluded at Panadura Esplanade yesterday. Chasing 369 to win, Bloomfield managed 267 runs as medium pacer Dilruwan Perera took 6 for 105 to lead hosts to a comfortable win.

Panadura hit 214 in the first innings before bowling the visitors out for 131 in the first innings and hammered 285 for the loss of five wickets with Chamara Silva making an impressive 104 and Chathura Peiris an unbeaten 70.

An imposing batting by display by Yashodha Lanka (139) and Sajith de Silva (12&0 and brilliant piece of bowling from Asiri Karunaratne (10 for 87) saw Air Force registering a massive innings and 82 run win over Saracens SC in their Premier League cricket encounter at Rifle Green yesterday.

After Lanka and de Silva helped Air Force reached a match winning 423 for 8 in the first innings, left arm medium pacer Karunaratne took five wickets in each innings to rattle the visitors leading them to a commanding win.

Spin rips through Lankan CC

Ajantha Mendis added four more to his first innings seven while Seekkuge Prasanna took 6 for 36 in a deadly spin attack as Army claimed an innings and 24 run win over Lankan CC in their Premier League match at Panagoda yesterday.

Two spinners ran through the top and the middle order after GP Smith (41) and P Taraka (37) had amassed 52 for the first wicket in just 10 overs. Prasanna took 6 for 36 while Mendis took 4 for 38 to finish with a match bag of 11 for 105 runs.
