Kalutara Town Club won first innings points against Navy Sports Club in a drawn game which concluded today at Welisara. After winning the toss, Navy skipper opted to bat first and posted 289 runs on the board. Kalutara Town Club batters replied with 322 runs in their first innings. Navy began their second innings 33 runs behind and declared at 222 runs for 6 wickets while setting a target of 190 runs for Kalutara Town Club. The lads from Kalutara could only score 123 runs for 2 wickets as umpires called stumps.

Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club vs Panadura Sports Club

The tier B fixture between Kurunegala YCC and Panadura SC ended in a draw today at the Welagedara stadium but Kurunegala YCC managed to win first innings points. Kurunegala YCC opted to bat first and posted solid 374 runs on the board. Panadura batters replied with a strong batting display with 358 runs but could not win first innings points. When umpires called stumps on day three, lads from Kurunegala were 253 runs for 6 wickets for their second innings.

Negombo Cricket Club vs Air Force Sports Club

Negombo Cricket Club managed to defeat Air Force Sports Club by 4 wickets today at Kadirana Cricket Grounds. After winning the toss, Negombo CC posted a solid 318 runs on the board for their first innings. In reply, Air Force SC batsmen were bowled out for 165 runs.

After being asked to follow on, Air Force SC batsmen put on a better batting display in the second innings and posted 237 runs all out. Negombo batsmen had an easy target of 85 runs to chase which they did with 4 wickets remaining. Umega Chathuranga was the star performer in the match as he picked up 10 wickets for 160 runs.

Galle Cricket Club vs Lankan Cricket Club

Galle Cricket Club took major honors in the clash against Lankan Cricket Club which concluded today at the Army Grounds. After winning the toss, Lankan Cricket Club’s skipper Rajeewa Weerasinghe opted to field first and managed to bowl out the opposition for 269 runs. In reply, the Lankan Cricket Club batters struggled against the disciplined bowling of Galle as they were bowled out for 155 runs.

The lads from Galle began their second innings 114 runs ahead and declared on 196 runs for 9 wickets. Lanka Cricket Club had to chase down 311 runs to win the match but they only managed to score 237 runs for 6 wickets as umpires called stumps.
