Former Sri Lankan Captain and Head Coach Marvan Atapattu joined the panel in upskilling coaches for Level 3 (Second Phase) on the 18th of July to share his tactical and technical expertise.

Atapattu sacrificed his valuable time conducting a session at Coach Education Unit of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to share his tactical and technical expertise on how to develop the mentality required to perform in today’s modern game. His inputs were well received and the knowledge shared was proven to be invaluable.

After the completion of the session, The Coach Education Unit under SLC paid their gratitude thanking him for time and generosity.

The 52-year-old played more than 350 Internationals for Sri Lanka after making his debut in 1990 and amassed over 14,000 runs across all formats.

Atapattu officially took over as Head Coach of Sri Lanka Men’s Cricket Team in September 2014, and was the team’s first local coach in 15 years. A 5–2 ODI series win during England’s 2014 tour of Sri Lanka was the only series win for Sri Lanka after he formally took over.
