Even after the powerplay, the Sri Lankan batters were unable to rescue their innings as they were restricted to just 65/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Renuka Singh was the pick of the bowlers for India, as she picked up 3 wickets for just 5 runs in 3 overs.

It was an easy target for the strong Indian batting lineup as they breezed past the total with 11 overs to spare. Indian opening batter Mandhana saved her best for the final as she came up with an absolute clinic with the bat, scoring 51 runs off 25 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 204.

After losing to Bangladesh in the final of last edition of the Women’s Asia Cup, India came back strong to lay their hands on the Asia Cup trophy, winning the title for the 7th time.
