Moors Sports Club defeated Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club by 53 runs in the only encounter of SLC Major Club Limited Over Tournament worked off today at Katunayake.

The Group A encounter between Moors SC and Kurunegala YCC reduced a 34-over affair as the rain interrupted the play at Marians Cricket Grounds in Katunayake.

After been put in to bat first, Moors got off to a shaky start losing both the openers Sohan De Livera and Pabasara Waduge inside the first 7 overs without significant contributions with the bat. The number three batter Kavindu Kulasekara and two-down batter Dushan Vimukthi then built a decent partnership for the third wicket adding 72 runs off 82 balls.
