Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene has questioned the selection of players for the upcoming Lanka Premier League season.

Jayawardene posted a Tweet on his personal Twitter handle and raised his concerns about the players picked and omitted from the five franchise teams for LPL 02.

The LPL player draft held yesterday to select final squads of five franchise teams saw some of Sri Lanka’s topmost cricketers being omitted from the finalized squads.

One of Sri Lanka’s best T20 cricketers Kusal Janith Perera, vice-captain of Sri Lanka T20 World Cup squad Dhananjaya De Silva and senior cricketers like Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal were notable omissions of LPL 2021.
