Bangladesh have made wholesale changes to their One-Day International (ODI) squad ahead of the three-match series against Windies. Backup wicket-keeper Liton Das returns to the squad while Imrul Kayes makes way from the squad that was picked for Bangladesh’s last ODI assignment – the tri-series at home against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

Also missing from that squad are all-rounder Nasir Hossain, Abul Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mohammad Mithun and Sunzamul Islam with the national selectors choosing to bring in almost like-for-like replacements in Mosaddek Hossain, Nazmul Hossain, Nazmul Islam, Abu Hider and Abu Jayed.

There are other inclusions in the squad with prodigious seam bowler Mustafizur Rahman returning to the national set-up after courting controversy after failing to report his foot injury ahead of the T20I series against Afghanistan in Dehradun, India.

Also holding on to his place in the squad is flamboyant batsman Sabbir Rahman, who was always expected to retain his place despite his recent off-field squabbles. Anamul Haque, meanwhile, held on to his place in the squad with the team desperately looking to find a stable combination at the top, with Mithun getting the most recent shot at making the place his own in January.

The ODI series will begin on July 22 soon after the culmination of the two-Test series. The 50-over games will be played at Guyana and St. Kitts with the former playing host to the first two ODIs.
