The 23-year-old left handed batsman Kamindu Mendis has been appointed as Sri Lanka ‘A’ Captain for the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan ‘A’.

Mendis, who was part of the Sri Lanka T20 World Cup squad, will take over the leadership baton of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team who will take part in the 3-match ODI series against Pakistan ‘A’, as it commences tomorrow (10th November) at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

Alongside Mendis, middle order batter Ashen Bandara, leg spinner Pulina Tharanga and fast medium bowler Shiran Fernando, who were also part of th the Sri Lanka T20 World Cup squad, will feature in the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team.

Meanwhile, seven players, namely Oshada Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, Lasith Embuldeniya, Asitha Fernando, Kamil Mishara, Suminda Lakshan and Chamika Gunasekara, all of who were part of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ squad during the recently concluded four day games against Pakistan ‘A’, have been released from the squad.

All 3 ODIs against Pakistan ‘A’ will be played at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on 10th, 12th and 15th November.
