The Ritzbury Junior John Tarbet Athletic Championship 2022, which was scheduled to be worked out from 10th to 12th December, has been postponed due to a directive from the Ministry of Education with regard to the hazardous air quality at the moment. The new date for the competition will be announced shortly.
Reliable sources claim that the competition will take place at the end of this month (December).
The Senior John Tarbet Athletic Meet was successfully completed by the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka in September, and because the Junior John Tarbet Athletic Meet was taking place after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak, AASL hoped to organize it in a similar manner.
Around 3500 athletes qualified and were expected to compete in the Final rounds of the Junior John Tarbet Athletic Championship this month, after the first several phases of the competition concluded in recent months.
