Joes thrash Maris Stella while Dhananjaya impresses with twin centuries

St. Joseph’s College vs Maris Stella College 

St. Joseph’s College recorded their 2nd outright win in the on-going Singer Trophy under 19 division 1 encounter when they beat Maris Stella College by 10 wickets at Darley Road today(11).

Joes resuming from their overnight score of 151/2 went on to add another 100 runs before they made the declaration. Revan Kelly and Thashan Perera made half centuries for the hosts while Ravindu Fernando picked up 4 wickets for Maris Stella.

Maris Stella didn’t fare any better in their second innings as they were bundled out for a paltry 160 runs with Harin Cooray and Jehan Fernandopulle sharing 6 wickets between them. 

Lasith Croosepulle was impressive with the bat for the visitors as he fought hard to avoid the inevitable making 81 runs which included 7 fours and 2 sixes.  Joes raced to their victory target in no time as they recorded an impressive 10 wicket win.

St. Joseph Vaz College Vs Moratu Vidyalaya 

Dhananjaya Perera lit up the Moratu Vidyalaya grounds when he stroked another brilliant century to follow up his 110 in the first innings today(11). 

Moratu Vidyalaya in pursuit of St. Joseph Vaz’s 332 fell well short as they were bowled out for 149 with Dhananjaya Perera showing off his skills with the ball picking up 3 wickets. Madushanka Perera made a solid half century for the hosts. 

The visitors opted to not enforce the follow on as they got some good batting practice reaching 186/2 at stumps with Dhananjaya Perera recording his second century of the game.
