Zahira College mini rugby carnival was worked off at the Zahira College grounds today. 12 teams took part in the U14 : 12 and 10 categories.
St.Joseph’s College was crowned cup champions whilst Nalanda College won the Shield championship, CWW Kannangara were crowned Bowl champions and Annanda College won the Plate championship.

Nalanda College managed to score one try past St. Benedict’s College as they managed to secure the Shield championship, CWW Kannangara scored twice past Wesley in a very fast intense rugby which as a result CWW Kannangara were crowned with the Bowl and Ananda College secured the Plate in a nail biter against Prince of Wales.

St. Joseph’s College coasted past Prince of Wales College in the first cup semi-final scoring 17 points while DS Senanayake College dispatched Ananda College 15-nil in the second cup semi-final.

St. Joseph’s College edge past hearted DS Senanayake College who lost their title defence in the final as they scored a solitary try in the second half to win the match and win the cup championship in the Zahira College mini rugby carnival.
