Mahela Jaywardene was recently voted the ‘Best Tactician’ by a poll conducted by the International Cricket Council on Twitter.

The ICC conducted a poll to select the best tactician among Cricket Captains who have played the game to date on their Twitter account.

Four players were nominated by ICC for the poll, which included Mark Taylor of Australia, Martin Crowe of New Zealand, Steven Fleming of New Zealand and Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka. More than 10,000 votes were cast.  

According to the final results of the poll, Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene managed to secure the highest number of votes with a percentage of 44.9%.

Fleming was the closest contender for the title as he managed to secure 39.9% of the polled votes. The other candidates were not even in the contest as Crowe and Taylor bagged 8.2% and 7% of votes respectively.

In other polls conducted related to Cricket Captains, India’s MS Dhoni was voted as the ‘Cool Customer’, New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum was named as the ‘Motivator’ while Pakistan’s Imran Khan was named as the ‘Pacesetter’ among Cricket Captains.
