‘I Have Done the duties of the Manager, Secretary and Ground Boy’ – Anver Jayah

Speaking to ThePapare.com Mr. Anver Jayah who was recently relieved from duties as the CH&FC rugby manager refuted the allegations levelled against him regarding his dismissal.

 

He explained that the letter he received from the Club Secretary accused him of under- performing in his duties as manager of the Club’s Rugby. Anver assured that he believes CH is a great club that and he has done the duties of manager, secretary and ground boy in his time as Manager for the past six years and he has certain proof to show level of commitment.

Anver also elaborated that even after his dismissal he has been trying to convince the players who were asked to leave to play for the club, but it’s a decision that lies with the players themselves in the end.

ThePapare learns that the players are not satisfied with the current coach Sanath Martis which has led to the internal issue of the Club. This view was also voiced by the Mr. Jayah who claims the dissatisfaction was due to that fact that there was minimal motivation from the coach.

Club Captain Indika Udayakumar, Nalin Kumara, Shanaka Bandara, Niroshan Ekanayake and Indika Wickramanayake are a few senior players who were asked to leave by the Management.
