The eighth Open Junior Badminton Championship 2018, came to end at the YMCA Moratuwa sports complex. A total around 180 participants in both U11 and U13 age groups for both girls and boys, took part in the tournament.
In the U11 category Hiruka Sahanmith won the category defeating Ransaja Uthsara in the final. Achini Kavindi got the better of Pramudi Fernando in the girl’s final in the same category. The U13 category saw Sachin Chamuditha and Niroshani Peiris taking honours in the boy’s and girl’s categories respectively.
Mr. L.R. Ariyananda the President of the Sestern Province Badminton Association and national champion gave away the medals and the certificates to the participants, winners and runners-up.
