Team Greens clinched the SLC T20 League 2025 title with a commanding 23-run victory over Team Greys in the final at SSC Grounds, Colombo.
Team Greys won the toss and elected to bowl first, hoping to restrict Team Greens for a low score.

Team Greens’ opener Kamil Mishara ran himself out off the first ball for a duck. Despite the early setback, Kusal Mendis and Bhanuka Rajapaksa steadied the innings with a crucial 56-run partnership for the second wicket.
Mendis, in scintillating form, then forged a 55-run stand for the third wicket with Sadeera Samarawickrama, keeping the scoreboard ticking.
The momentum shifted decisively in the final overs as Samarawickrama and Kamindu Mendis unleashed a blistering 77-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Kusal Mendis led the charge with a brilliant 77 off 47 balls, studded with 5 fours and 5 sixes, anchoring the innings.
Samarawickrama played a dynamic unbeaten knock of 49 off 29 balls, including 7 fours, while Kamindu Mendis provided the perfect finish with an unbeaten 42 off 23 balls, featuring 6 fours and a six. Team Greens posted a formidable 189/4 in their 20 overs.
Chasing 190, Team Greys started strongly with a fiery 70-run opening stand between Dinesh Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella.

Dickwella smashed 50 off 28 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Chandimal contributed a quickfire 36 off 21 balls, including 5 fours and a six. However, the middle order faltered under pressure, unable to build on the solid foundation.
Chamika Karunaratne, continuing his stellar form in the tournament, turned the game in Team Greens’ favor with a match-defining spell, claiming 3 wickets for 24 runs. His disciplined bowling, combined with tight fielding, restricted Team Greys to 166/8 in their 20 overs, falling 23 runs short of the target.
