In the fourth match of the SLC T20 League 2025, Team Greens secured a commanding 72-run victory over Team Blues, marking their third straight win in the tournament.

Team Blues won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that initially paid dividends as Team Greens found themselves in deep trouble at 57/5. The early collapse put immense pressure on the middle order, with the top order failing to provide a stable start.

However, skipper Kamindu Mendis and all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne stepped up when their team needed them most, stitching together a match-defining partnership.

Mendis led from the front, anchoring the innings with a well-crafted 50 off 39 balls, including five boundaries. His composed knock provided stability, while Karunaratne’s aggressive unbeaten 41 off 30 balls, laced with two fours and two towering sixes, injected momentum into the innings

The duo’s 82-run stand for the sixth wicket proved to be the game-changer, helping Team Greens recover to a competitive total of 158/6 in their 20 overs.

For Team Blues, pacer Dilshan Madushanka and off-spinner Akila Dananjaya were the pick of the bowlers, each claiming two wickets.

Chasing 159, Team Blues’ batting lineup crumbled under pressure, managing a paltry 86 runs in their allotted overs. The star of the show was wrist-spinner Dushan Hemantha, who ran through the opposition with a sensational four-wicket haul.
