U17 Girls

Galigamuwa Central College defeated Sri Rathanapala Maha Vidyalaya Mahauswewa 3-0 to win the U17 Girls’ Championship.

The champions beat Anamaduwa Central College 25-18, 25-18 while Shri Rathanapala Maha Vidyalaya beat Gajanayake Maha Vidyalaya 25-15 & 25-7 in the semi-finals.

The 1st set was a walk in the park for Galigamuwa Central as they won 25-16. Shri Rathanapala gave a good fight in the 2nd set but fell short 25-23. Galigamuwa once again came back to their best, winning the 3rd set 25-17.

U17 Boys

St.Xavier’s College, Marawila defeated Vijayaba National School, Hungama 3-0 to win the U17 Boys’ Championship.

Rajasinghe College missed out on a place in their fourth finals berth of the championship when they were defeated 25-15 & 25-15 by Vijayaba National School, Hungama in the semi-final. St. Xavier’s College beat Thalwaththa Abhinawa Kanishta Vidyalaya 25-7 & 25-17 to make it into their 3rd final.

St.Xavier’s College won the 1st set 25-17. They then held off a strong challenge from Vijayaba National School to win the 2nd set 25-21. A comfortable 25-13 3rd set win saw St.Xavier’s College secure the championship.
