Saqib Mahmood, who has represented England in 21 internationals since 2019, is set to return to competitive cricket during the white-ball leg of the tour after missing out on national commitments due to a stress fracture to his back.

Haseeb Hameed and Alex Lees, who have opened the batting for England in the past, have been picked in the red-ball squad for this tour.

ECB selectors have also included three members of England’s U19 squad (Jacob Bethell, Tom Prest and James Rew) that reached the final of the One Day World Cup last year, in a party which features 28 players.

The ECB is yet to confirm the Head Coach and captains for each squad while the selection of players will also be subject to the England Lions’ minimum fitness standards.
