The English Indoor cricket team will be on Sri Lankan shores, during the next few days as they will play 6 Tests against the Sri Lankan Indoor cricket team, at the Austasia International Stadium in Thalawathugoda from the 6th to the 8th of April.

This is the 3rd time that England is touring Sri Lanka for an Indoor cricket series, with the previous two tours coming in 2003, when Sri Lanka beat England 3-0, while the other instance was in 2004 during the Indoor Cricket World Cup held in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka team will be coached by Asela Pathirana who was the National Captain on both occasions, when England toured Sri Lanka previously. The team will be led by the experienced Kamal Kuruppu and he will have Kolitha Hapuarachchi as his deputy.

The team has been training since February after their return from the Asia Cup in India, where Sri Lanka became runners up, while the series has been sanctioned by the World Indoor Cricket Federation (WICF).

The England ‘Masters’ and ‘Development’ teams will also be on tour along with the ‘Mens’ team and they are set to play the Sri Lanka ‘Masters’ and ‘Development’ teams concurrently with the ‘Mens’ tournament.
