In a communiqué just released by Sri Lanka Cricket it is announced that the National Coach Paul Farbrace has tendered his resignation with immediate effect. He has indicated his unavailability to continue as he will be taking up an appointment with the ECB.
Rumours and media reports have been proved correct as the coach who took Sri Lanka to an Asia Cup and T20 World cup victory has been snatched by the opposition in a daring and unethical move.
While this usurps all Sri Lanka’s plans to showcase themselves in mecca of cricket; the coach savvy to English conditions and thought process would have been more than handy to high-riding Lankans. As it stands Sri Lanka are not only left coach-less but liable to have Farbrace spilling the beans on all game plans and weaknesses to the opposition.
It can be perceived as the most diabolical heist in modern day cricket.
