Dushan Hematha’s ballistic ton give SPC advantage

St. Peters College took on Maristela College Negambo today in an inter school cricket encounter. 

The Peterites winning the toss decided to bat first and posted an imposing 262 runs for 8 in 56 over’s. Shehan Fernando and Lahiru Milantha were in prime form scoring half tons however it was the skippers willow which dictated terms during the match. Petes skipper Dushan Hemantha came out with all guns blazing scoring 101 runs in just 91 balls. His ballistic innings included 15 hits to the boundary which took his side pass the 250 run mark. 

Rajindu Peiris and Ruvin Rasaiya took 3 wickets each for Maris Stella while Dilan Gamage ended with a couple. 

With a heavy score on the board from the Petes Maris Stella were looking at safeguarding their wickets, but St. Peters had different ideas as they claimed 6 before the close of play. 

Julian De Zylva and Chamila Obeysekera claimed 5 wickets between them while Vihanga Ravishanka ended with 32 runs for Maris Stella.
