Dimuth Karunaratne is set to retire from international cricket following the second Test against Australia in Galle.
The former Sri Lankan skipper will be making his 100th appearance in Test cricket when they face off Australia in the second Test on the 6th February at Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Karunaratne will become Sri Lanka’s seventh cricketer to 100 Tests, following Sanath Jayasuriya, Muthiah Muralidaran, Chaminda Vaas, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara and Angelo Mathews.

The 36-year old southpaw has decided to step away from the game after a recent run of poor form with the bat at the top of the order. Karunaratne has scored only 182 runs in his last seven Test matches with a solitary half-century in September 2024 against New Zealand.
Karunaratne has represented Sri Lanka in 99 Tests accumulating 7172 runs at 39.40 with 16 centuries and 39 fifties. He has also played 50 ODIs scoring 1316 runs for the island nation with a lone ODI century in 2023 against Ireland.
