DCL16 – Team of the Week – 07

The Sri Lanka squad member had a brilliant day between the posts against a marauding Java Lane side who were desperate for a win. Few magnificent saves from Kaveesh kept the visitors in the game, especially in the 2nd half and earned a point.

Harsha Fernando showed energy throughout the 90 minutes in defense and attack. He was mostly involved in attacks in the 2nd half providing ample options to the forwards.

He prevailed in a tough assignment against Java Lane at the difficult City Football Complex. Held off attack after attack from the hosts and looked solid.

The newest member of Colombo FC this season, the former Hameed AL Husseinie College man playing in an unfamiliar center-back role has adjusted quite seemingly. The match against Up Country Lions was a perfect example, showing his pace and strength.

Another impressive show from the former U19 player, added a couple of goals against Thihariya Youth.

The veteran had the hard task of unlocking the stubborn Police defense while controlling the midfield. He did so exceptionally in the 2nd half while making unmarked runs into the box which resulted in him scoring a goal.

A pressure game for Colombo FC against Super 8 hunting Up Country Lions, where they looked ordinary in the first but it was the experienced Nagur Meera who ran the show in the 2^nd half.

Back to back appearance for Fazal, as he was the one who finally broke the defense of Police late in the first half and straight after half time. He had another commanding performance even with a slight knee injury.

The livewire of Air Force was at the heart of every attack. Scored one in the 2nd half and was a constant threat to Navy.

The hat-trick man Job Michael has added a couple this season and against Police scored four extending his lead in the Golden Boot race.

Scored the equalizer and assisted another in the 2^nd half in a 4-1 rout of the hosts, Navy SC.
