Afghanistan fast bowler Aftab Alam of Dambulla Viiking is set to return to Afghanistan immediately due to personal reasons.
Alam impressed on the LPL stage with his only appearance in the league against Jaffna Stallions with figures of 1 for 22 in his 3 overs. He was excellent in the death overs in that game which even made the commentators question as to why he wasn’t given his full quota of overs.
No replacement has been named for Alam yet by Dambulla Viiking, who now have only 5 overseas players in Anwar Ali, Samit Patel, Samiullah Shinwari, Paul Stirling and Sudeep Tyagi.
Dambulla Viiking has played 3 games and won 2 as they stand in third position in the table. They have five more games left in the tourney.
