Crystal Palace took revenge for their loss to Thihariya Youth in the division I final last year as they crushed Thihariya 4-0 at the Jayathilaka Stadium and with it sealed Thihariya’s relegation into division I after only a year in the Premier League.

One of the top goal scorers in the league IssacAba scored a hat-trick and Shifan Mohomed added the other goal for the hosts.

It was strange scenes at the Jayathilaka Stadium for Thihariya Youth where a year ago this was the venue where they celebrated their division I championship win but a year on in it was the gut-wrenching feeling that had engulfed them.

For Crystal Palace it was sweet revenge as they survive in the Premier League for another year after a miserable start themselves but will have to do more if they are to make an impact in the top league in the future.
