The Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh will go ahead as scheduled despite the Covid-19 scare within the Sri Lankan contingent.

There were serious doubts on the three-match ODI series after three members in the Sri Lanka touring party – fast bowlers, Isuru Udana, Shiran Fernando and fast-bowling coach Chaminda Vaas were tested positive for Covid-19 from the tests done on the 21st of May.

However, Chaminda Vaas and Isuru Udana have tested negative on the PCR tests done on the 22nd May evening while Shiran Fernando remained positive and will go into isolation. Fernando, an uncapped seamer was tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this month as well.

Vaas is believed to have had both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, while all the players in the squad have had at least one dose of the vaccine before leaving the island on the 16th of May.
