Isipathana College took on St. Benedict’s College today in an inter school cricket match which was played at Benedict grounds.
Hosts who won the toss had no hesitation in asking the opposition to bat. Isipathana managed to score just 140 runs with all 10 wickets going down in 70.1 overs. Matheesha Jayasiri scored an unbeaten 37 while Maleen Dias stayed with him on 30. Dilan Anjula destroyed the opposition with 5 wickets in 28 runs.
Benedict’s were good enough to hold their own for 19 overs as the opening pair managed to score 65 runs at the end of days play. Thilina Silva and Mahela Jayalath were unbeaten for 43 and 17 runs repectively.
