The first unofficial Youth Test between the Sri Lanka Emerging Team and Bangladesh Emerging Team ended in a draw today (28 th October) at Dambulla.
Sri Lanka declared their first innings after posting 298/7 on the board in reply to Bangladesh’s massive first innings total – 501.

The visitors began their second innings 203 runs ahead, but Sri Lanka managed to fight back with the ball to restrict them to 147 runs.
Sri Lankan spin twins Shashika Dulshan and Kalhara Senarathne stood out with the ball, claiming 4 wickets each.
Chasing 351 runs to win, Sri Lanka had a terrible start to their innings as they were slumped to 17 for 4 inside first ten overs. The Skipper Sonal Dinusha steadied the innings, playing a crucial hand in the middle overs before bad light forced early stumps on the fourth and final day of the match.

The second Unofficial Youth Test between the sides will be played from 2nd to 5th November at the same venue.
