The Australian Women’s cricket team, more widely known as the Southern Stars, are scheduled to engage in a nearly three week long tour of Sri Lanka in September.

The Southern Stars will be arriving in the Island on the 12th of September and will spend a couple of days training in Colombo before making the trip to Dambulla for the 1st ODI to be held on the 18th. The tour will consist of 4 ODIs and 1 T20I as well as 1 warm up match prior to the team’s departure to Dambulla.

According to sources, the 1st match will be a standalone ODI while the other three will be ICC Women’s Championship games. Australia are currently well on top in the Women’s Championship leaderboard with 24 points, whereas Sri Lanka are languishing in last place with just 5 points.

Neither team has played any international cricket since the World T20 in March/April, which is incidentally when the two teams played each other last.
