T.Akash dethroned Darren Hall to win the Overall Challenge Trophy and Gold division title at the Scanwell Logistics Junior Golf tournament, at the Royal Colombo Golf Course.
Scanwell Logistics, a Hong Kong based global logistics service provider, represented in all countries through a strong network of own offices joined hands with the Royal Colombo Golf Club to host for the second consecutive year “The Junior Golf Tournament”, which was held on the 28th of August 2015. The tournament was followed by the presentation of Scanwell Logistics Challenge Trophy to the overall winner and other Awards covering divisions Gold, Silver and Bronze.
T.Akash was awarded the Overall Challenge trophy and also took home the Gold Division title for the first time. He scored a 77 and overcame the challenge from the last year’s winner Darren Hall.
At the awards ceremony Mr.Lesley Wirakoon said, “I like to thank Mr. Andy Anderson – Managing Director of Scanwell Logistics for the initiative taken in sponsoring this event for the 2nd successive year as well as for the guidance given to us.”
He also went on to thank the Royal Colombo Golf Club for its support and organizing this event successfully. Sampath Bank awarded all participants a passbook which was handed over by the representatives of the Bank.
Today with over 30 years in services Scanwell is known for its best ethical cooperate practice in the logistics industry. And is committed to their CSR project “Bridge 2 Peace” which was initiated right after the devastating “Tsunami” in 2004.
Leslie went on to thank the parents of the participants for encouraging the youth to play the game of golf and said that Scanwell will look at hosting “The Junior Golf Tournament” annually.
