Sri Lanka missed out on participating in the fifteens format in the Asia Division I Championship this year due to the heavy sevens calendar, but the former CR & FC represent is confident that the fifteens structure and its progress will not be halted and will continue during his term in office.

Sri Lanka in the sevens format are currently placed 4th according to the Asia Rugby rankings based on last year’s sevens series behind Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea but momentum is with the sevens outfit to make it through to the top three this year with the Asian Games and the Asia Sevens Series approaching.
