Promising Janashakthi-sponsored tennis athlete Prabuddhi Perera has excelled at the recently held Asia Tennis Federation Development Championship, conducted by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in collaboration with the SLTA.

Representing in the under 14 age category, Perera placed 3rd in the first week, and played extremely well in the second week, placing first in the singles and doubles categories. She was also the Under 14 Semi Finalist in the Junior National Tennis Championship conducted by the SLTA.

Prabuddhi has already been picked by SLTA to represent “Srilanka National under 14 Team” in the girl’s under 14 age group for all International events for year 2015.

Another budding young athlete, 10 year old Anjalika Kurera also played extremely well this year to retain her No. 01 ranking in the girl’s under 10 age group. Kurera is Janashakthi’s youngest sponsored tennis player, and ended the year on a high note by being crowned the “Under 10 Junior National Champion”. This was the crowning achievement for the young player, who was consistently awarded the Under 10 Girl’s Championship in all the tennis tournaments conducted in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tennis Association.

Chief Operating Officer, General Insurance Dayalinie Abeygunawardena identified the potential of these two budding tennis players from Negombo to add them to the rest of the Athletes Sponsored by Janashakthi.

“Janashakthi is proud to be associated with these two promising players. Both Prabuddhi and Anjalika are being trained by HIT Tenniz Academy, Colombo.
