St. Peter’s beat the mighty Zahirians in the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association U 17 championship tournament, group semi finals today (30th Sept) at Cooray Park,1 goal to nil. Afam Akram scored the solitary goal for SPC sending the Zahirians packing, out of the tournament.
At 2.30 pm, the same day SPC faced Arathusa College in the finals of the group. They comprehensively beat Arathusa with a 5 – 0 victory to move on to the knockouts of the tournament, where they will be placed amongst 24 teams from other regions, across the country. The goal scorers were: Dananjaya De Silva continuing his good form, scored 3 goals, while Johan Wickremasinghe and Niresh Sundharaj contributing with 01 goal each.
