Royal College, Colombo and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia have booked their places in the final of the U17 Inter-Schools Division 1 Cricket Tournament after securing victories in their respective semi-finals.
In the first semi-final, Royal College defeated Wesley College by 12 runs under the DLS method in a rain-affected encounter played at the S. Thomas’ College Grounds, Mount Lavinia.

Having been asked to bat first, Royal College posted 184 runs, with Dushen Udawela top-scoring with 47 runs while Nithesh Jayasinghe contributed 42.
Wesley College were set a revised target of 161 runs in 36 overs according to the DLS method. However, they managed to score only 148 runs, falling short by 12 runs as Royal College secured their place in the final.
In the second semi-final, S. Thomas’ College defeated Trinity College by six wickets under the DLS method at the Wesley College Grounds, Colombo.
Trinity College, batting first, posted 223 runs, with Savitha Vithanage and Shenal De Arthur scoring valuable half-centuries.
Following a rain interruption, S. Thomas’ College were set a revised target of 179 runs in 31 overs. The Mount Lavinia outfit chased down the target comfortably, reaching the required total for the loss of just four wickets.
Reshon Solomons led the chase with a match-winning 75 off 58 balls, including 11 fours, as S. Thomas’ College sealed a six-wicket victory and joined Royal College in the tournament final.
