Galle Gallants produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Dambulla Sixers by 44 runs and register their fourth victory of the Lanka Premier League 2026 in the 14th match of the tournament played today (26th July) at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.

Having won the toss, Galle Gallants elected to bat first and piled up a formidable 220 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was powered by an explosive knock from Chamika Karunaratne, who smashed 72 runs off just 34 deliveries, striking 4 boundaries and 6 towering sixes at an impressive strike rate of 211.76.

Despite the daunting total, Dambulla Sixers’ pace spearhead Dushmantha Chameera stood out with the ball, claiming an outstanding five-wicket haul. Although he proved expensive, Chameera finished with figures of 5 for 55 from his four overs, becoming the standout bowler for his side.

Facing a stiff target of 221, Dambulla Sixers struggled to keep up with the required rate and eventually finished on 176 for 7 in their 20 overs. Ramesh Mendis top-scored with 39 runs, while Niroshan Dickwella contributed 32, but their efforts were not enough to challenge the Gallants’ imposing total.
