Colombo Kaps captain Kusal Mendis has been ruled out of the remainder of the Lanka Premier League 2026 after sustaining a right hamstring injury.
The injury occurred while Mendis was attempting a run during Colombo Kaps’ match against Kandy Royals on 19th July at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.

Following medical assessments, the wicketkeeper-batter has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament and will now begin his recovery process.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket, Mendis will return to the National High Performance Centre, where he will commence his rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the medical staff.
